William P. Carl Fine Prints | Durham

We specialize in 19th and 20th century fine prints with a small group of contemporary artists. This year marks 48 years in the print business and we continue to seek out new and interesting areas to collect in. Over the past twenty years or so we've been acquiring modern Dutch and Belgian prints. Among the artists we show are: Jan Toorop, Theo van Hoytema, WOJ Nieuwenkamp, Jules de Bruycker, Henri van Straten, Jan Wiegers and many others. We are also very interested in American and European color woodcuts 1890-1940, WPA era screenprints and industrial images from the 1930s and 1940s, Provincetown printers including Blanche Lazzell and French color prints from the 1890s to the 1920s. We are now actively pursuing African American printmakers from the 1920s to the 1970s.
